Once I began this procedure it all started to fall into place the ideas were starting to flow this gave me the opportunity to improve upon prior plans, not only was I able to get my tempo correctly adjusted as well as a new bass line which was more fitting and highlighting of the track opposed to just mirroring the guitar parts, although the notes that I am playing are only the root notes they blend well when layered with the guitar.
As I was recording my instruments I encountered a major technical issue, this issue slowed my progress as I had to postpone my session and record at a later date, the problem which I faced had removed half of my recordings and only played half of the riff then follow that with silence and that problem looped through me entire track.
Though this problem had slowed me down I still had time to redo my tracks and still have time to complete one of my mixes I may be too rushed for time to complete a second mix as originally planned, though I was unhappy it gave me the motive to do the most I possibly could on my first mix as this would be the only chance to display my research on my writing since the start of the year, as well as my song writing itself it also displays my progression when it comes to playing instruments in general as at the start of the year I couldn’t play guitar or bass.
Once I had finished my recordings I sought the help of another musician in order to fulfil the collaboration aspect of my required mark scheme, this help came from Amber as she opted to sing on my song so it had some variation and more weight, I will not claim to have written the vocals those efforts came from her this is because I am often unable to convert my ideas to words and in this instance I had help completing the vocal aspect of a song, this is an addition to my original plan as I didn’t plan on vocals at the time.
When it came to recording vocals I ran the microphone through an XLR cable this was then directed through a compressor then to the desk which was connected to Logic Pro X, at first we encountered a problem with the signal but this was due to someone editing the assigned levels for optimal recording value.
I cannot claim any coordination in terms of the vocals the lyrics were both written and performed by Amber, she also followed by creating the melody.
